Ever since we met the Squirt lube team at the Chevin Cycles demo day where they kindly degreased our chains and cassettes and applied the first coat of Squirt lube a number of SingletrActioners have been using the chain lube. And i have to say i think we're impressed. Ok so it's been dry for a while now but even when we've had intermittent rain chains and cassettes have kept on running with an improvement in shifting.

Some of us are lucky enough to live near great riding. Others are lucky enough to own a car and can drive to great riding. But what about those who don't have access to trails or a car? This is where rather than taking the biker to the trails, you bring the trails to the biker.

Pedalsport are running a Thursday evening race series this summer at Rockingstones Quarry near Golcar. It's a friendly low key affair and ideal if you want to dip your toes into the world of racing without worrying too much about whether you need the lightest bike or if you have to shave your legs to be competitive (although you can if you want to blink1.gif ).

And a few of you riding by stopped to help the hardy volunteer men and boys (and girls) of SingletrAction who spent a damp (!) morning barrowing hardcore up a dirt track so you'se lot would have more trails to ride - so thanks to all who pitched in smile.gif

Ae Avalanche Enduro - Team SingletrAction back in action !
Posted by Mark B on 2010-06-02 09:27:12 UTC
A sunny May weekend in Scotland, a trail we all know well, about 300 mountain bikers and some timing equipment. Mix them all together and out comes the Avalanche Enduro.

The Avalanche Enduro format helps provide some much needed gravity racing in a country where uplifts are limited and ski lifts are lacking. Ride your bike up, race your bike (along and) down.

New this year was racing head to head with another seeded rider. This gave everyone an extra impetus to try as hard as possible on every stage - no slacking off when you have a friendly fellow competitor to beat to the first corner smile.gif
