The hottest day of the year so far, and we volunteer to move tonnes of soil? That ll be the June Dalby dig day then!

Lots of new faces, some of which stopped to lend a hand mid-ride! Respect to anyone who will stop mid way around the red route to shift tonnes of soil, then set off into the midday heat. Cheers to Rob and Ian for making a big dent in the soil shifting.

Another great day, with loads of progress and shifting a considerable amount of soil, with construction of the first berm, and then infilling behind and around the rollers we built last month.

The Gazebo provided some much needed shelter at half time, but the heat didnt deter some more impromptu digging from passers-by Alan and Stuart. The afternoon led to more removal of the Organic layer on one of the remaining unworked sections of the track. This was tough going, as there was a web-like layer of roots just below the surface trying to thwart our efforts. A bit more berm building, and it was decided that enough was enough for one day. Squirt lube and Fenwicks FS1 was handed out to all attendees, we all sailed off onto the quietest roads in Britain (well for at least 90mins anyway). Shame not as many people watch the MTB World Cup, as we are actually good at that....

Special mention must go out to the public relations department, Helen and Libby, whose skills were missed this month due to studying (Helen), and Lurgy (Libby). Get well soon Lib.

Masses of progress once again, the track is really starting to emerge. Looking forward to more of the same next month. July dig day is on Sunday 18th.
