My pride & joy

Have you ever sat down and calculated just how much your bike is really worth?

Recently one of our esteemed crew had the misfortune to have his garage cleared out...
They came armed with a few simple tools inc a big set of bolt croppers (no doubt nicked!) and left with three very expensive bicycles.

Glorious weather saw a dry and dusty course, with temperatures rising it was clear it was going to be a hot day in the saddle for the racers. Despite competition from the world cup and the national road race championships just up the road there was a strong entry again. A new course with some "off piste" favourites and new surprises saw a few riders going straight over the handlebars comedy falling into a run on the first lap before the pace settled down.

The hottest day of the year so far, and we volunteer to move tonnes of soil? That ll be the June Dalby dig day then!

Lots of new faces, some of which stopped to lend a hand mid-ride! Respect to anyone who will stop mid way around the red route to shift tonnes of soil, then set off into the midday heat. Cheers to Rob and Ian for making a big dent in the soil shifting.

Ever since we met the Squirt lube team at the Chevin Cycles demo day where they kindly degreased our chains and cassettes and applied the first coat of Squirt lube a number of SingletrActioners have been using the chain lube. Some of us are lucky enough to live near great riding. Others are lucky enough to own a car and can drive to great riding. But what about those who don't have access to trails or a car? This is where rather than taking the biker to the trails, you bring the trails to the biker.

It's a friendly low key affair and ideal if you want to dip your toes into the world of racing without worrying too much about whether you need the lightest bike or if you have to shave your legs to be competitive (although you can if you want to blink1.gif ).

Dig Day - 1-8-2010 Stainburn
I know I said it last time but we really, really could finish the Extension this time. There has been lots of preparation to remove the awful uphill slog with barrows, so now there are pre-placed hardcore stockpiles in strategic locations. Get it done on the day and (if the weather is good) we will BBQ and rock the PT to celebrate. Bring your own beer! -
