where you seeing a trance x for 1500 of your recessing great british pounds? Or are you just looking at a new frame?

I'd consider a trusty hard tail for just dalby or dalby like riding, I had an utter hoot bobbing about the WC track on just 120mm of front suspension the other week.

I did say £1500 ISH with quite a big ISH! The hardtail option is already covered with my old kona kula, great on the smooth singletrack but the rest of the red route is a killer, I have a coiler to take the sting out of things but thats getting a bit heavy for me now, need somewhere inbetween the two, was even looking at last years anthem x5, £900 sounds like a bargain for that sort of bike.

Test ride a bunch of bikes what looks good on paper doesn't always work for everyone.
I really like lapierre zestys but not a fan of spesh (most people love them)
Bigger brands tend to give you a higher spec for your money and have last years models with money knocked off

Check out chainreactions Vitus Escarpe range £1300 gets you a sektor fork/monarch RT 140mm with sram X7/X5 or for £1750 you get a Revelation and X9 looks like a bargain considering the spec and CRC always have some deals on, its a proven four bar frame design and has had good reviews so id certainly bear it in mind.

Coiler has finally sold and I'm looking at a 2011 giant anthem x4, down to £1149.99. Sounds like a good deal on a decent spec bike, Anyone out there got experiance on them?
