We have been making really good progress with the extra trailbuilding days so will be doing a few more. These won't replace the usual sessions on the first Sunday of every month so we will be back as normal on Sunday 1st April

Usual drill meeting in the car park at 9:30 and out on the trails later. We have plenty of tools but if you need that special spade or your favourite mattock feel free to bring them along with some good boots, gloves, food and drink (although we have some drinks for the trail crew)

Rough plan of action - as usual if we have the numbers we will split into teams and work on a few things

Some minor repair and tweak to the top of the red return ready for the chainless event. This may also include altering the stupid little tabletop jump before the berms (sorry been bugging me for years).
Block off some sneaky lines which are appearing on the DL and red and causing damage to trail dragging mud etc.

Complete the main construction on the new drop off feature 9and catch berm,, maybe even a qualifier).

Break ground on the first of the new lines on the DL below the boulder - and rock base etc

Gather rock for new features on DL both for the jump planned in the trees (already started) and others lower down the trail to improve the middle section.

Repairs and minor alterations to DL extension.

General ongoing trail TLC and repairs

I was up there today and over the road the newly reclaimed down line is blocked by a pretty large immoveable tree (right at the junction of the two lines in, before the slab split line bit). Could we add sawing that up/off/away (its only the top of the massive tree that's in the way), decent bow saw should get through it in 10 minutes or so. I was pretty impressed how ridable that top section is at the moment (excluding massive tree).

Cheers for the heads up.

Have to be careful not to fall foul of FC's "rules" about what we are allowed to do re: trees. Me and K know the criteria so show us on 25th and we'll take it up with them if necessary (or sort it ourselves if appropriate).

I thought that might come into play. Like a tool I didn't take a pic, if I'm up again I will. hopefully it will be ok by the rules.

If the tree has fallen and is on the ground then we can clear it.

If it still up/hanging and in the roots in the ground then we must leave for FC as if cutting it it may fall and risk of injury.

Cheeky has a bunch of bow saws but Ill try remember mine and I tend to have the brash hook and mini axe with me at most digs.

So new plan

2 man team to clear tree
Widen new "red" section on red climb (small job won't take long)
Continue work on new drop off line (small team to pitch and fetch some rock)
Clear new line below boulder and begin to rock if possible

If the weather isnt great, do some clearing work on the black route to redefine the line and identify and sections in need of repair.
Patch work on red
Gather rock for jump on DL and improved table top on red.

Ill go up one evening and do some work blocking off some of the cheeky lines etc

Have to change the plan again as me and Dave just went up for a few hours and did a few quick jobs so we can crack on with new stuff on the dig day!!

So,,,,,
Finish the bulk of the construction on the drop off line including sorting a catch berm and maybe a qualifier (also install post). - small team
Clear new line below boulder and rock as much as possible - bulk of group
Gather rock for new jumps on DL and red - see how many people we have and how much we get done
Maybe,,,,
Do some more work to block off all the cheeky lines appearing on the top section of the DL and red. - a couple of people can sort but I may do it one night.
Look at modifications to red return for a new feature - Me and Dave have a slight new line in mind to improve the flow even more on the return to the car park its only a short section half that of the last alteration.
Clear mulch and redefine line on black route - Already started a bit and will keep doing bits as and when
And even,,,
Quick repairs and alterations to the DL extension
Alterations and new features to middle section of DL and improve stream crossings

Me Lib and Dave spent a few hours last night clearing the worst of the organic from the first section of black down to the slab,, you can see the rocks again great for spotting lines maybe not so good for those who didn't like to see the rocks!!

For me it really shows the trail off while still leaving it looking natural, ride it soon it won't be long till it starts to cover over again

Massive thank you to everyone who helped out today in the glorious weather,, well once the fog cleared and got sun burn!!

Got the new line below the boulder dug out and most of it rocked,, just need same amount of rock again to build the planned jumps, thankfully its not far away and uphill of the trail so working downhill for a change
Also got a little bit more work on the jump which be be in the trees on the Dl but that one is a way off yet,, I think.

Thanks again to
