Hey up,

I'm looking at getting a child carrier for the bike, so I can get out on the bike myself without feeling guilty about leaving the little one or the missis behind.
So I have a couple of questions for you guys with mini people.

What do you use?
whats best, or what do you think is best?
Will it fit on a stumpjumper?

I do have one of these, but unsure if your allowed to use it on bike, but comes up on chainreaction like you can I donno..

Please note that it may have to stand up to some harshness and keep in mind that it may need to hold the little one in well as chances are i'll be following Knacker (the little ones uncle) somewhere... :)

cheers
Boydie

I'd suggest following the links at the bottom of that page to the Hamax child seats.

Rucksack back carriers tend to keep the child fairly high on the back (for visibility/ease of access) so i'd be cautious of riding in them.

Whilst child seats aren't perfect they at least keep the weight lower and tend to envelope the child more, offering a little more protection.

Never used a full seat so I have nothing useful to add.

However, when old / big enough get one of these:

Best thing since sliced bread IMO. Nay sayers usually haven't fitted them properly / done the nuts up tight enough.

Also, Isla Bikes (http://www.islabikes.co.uk/) make soem of the nicest kids bikes I've ever seen.

I already have a trail-gator for use with my nieces and nephews.

I second the Isla bikes thing much much better than most kids bikes
